Designer Notes:

We proportioned this piece for small spaces
yet made it large enough to fit most things one likes to keep at bedside.
On top it has a drawer for jewelry and medicines.
And the bottom door opens into space for magazines, books and larger stuff.
The tropics are warm and humid and this piece was developed for that environment,
so it looks fresh and breezy while, by breathing, preventing mildew.
Using cane functionally as in for seating where it reduces
the user’s perspiration or as a decorative item
like in this night stand announces a tropical resort atmosphere.

Construction Notes:

The top is solid mahogany.
The piece is assembled with dowels and duck tail joinery in the drawer.
The only metal used is in the drawer railings and door hinges.
Not one more screw nor nail.
